MAJOR ELEMENTS IN THIS MAGICAL POTION
AHA 30%
Glycolic Acid, Lactic Acid, Tartaric Acid and Citric Acid meets together and creates the magical potion of AHAs building up to 30% of The Ordinary AHA 30% + BHA 2% Peeling Solution AHAs (Alpha Hydroxy Acids) are a group of exfoliants that dissolve the glue that holds skin cell together so they can slough off. The charm of this brings up softer, smoother and brighter skin.
AHAs works on getting rid of damages done to your skin by sun. The cells on the surface of the skin are the most battered by the sun and elements. They withstood the most damage. AHAs bring out newer, healthier cells underneath, dark spots slowly fade away. Wrinkles and fine lines look smaller too.
The exfoliation of skin by AHAs will remove Shallow skin and you will look younger, brighter and prettier than ever. But the new raw skin is exposed to Sun for more damage than ever. Warning: Don’t go out in Sun for stroll without using sunscreen on this new prettier and younger screen or you will get burned.
As stated before, AHAs dry out your skin, irritates it and makes it more prone to sun damage.
That’s why it’s best to start with small concentrations of AHAs and build up use gradually. Don’t cheat!
BHA 2%
Salicylic Acid is a member on Beta Hydroxy Acids and consist the BHA 2% in The Ordinary AHA 30% + BHA 2% Peeling Solution.
Like AHAs, salicylic acid dissolves the glue that holds skin cells together so they can slough off. Cue brighter, smoother, softer skin.
BHAs gets into more detail, and remove all the crap in the pores which helps in creating blackheads, whiteheads and pimples. Bye Bye blemishes!
Tasmanian Pepperberry
The Ordinary loves your skin so to keep irritation lower, they added a portion of Tasmanian pepperberry to the mix. Tasmanian pepperberry has anti-inflammatory properties that reduce redness and irritations. Here, it helps reduce the risk of a negative reaction.
HOW TO USE THE ORDINARY AHA 30% + BHA 2% PEELING SOLUTION
Here’s everything you need to know:
- Directions to use:
Before using, cleanse your skin, dry it completely and then apply the peeling solution evenly on your skin. Wait for some time and then wash it off with lukewarm water. Yes, it is that simple.
- How long should you leave it on?
Maximum 10 Minutes and wash it right away.
In the beginning, it is better to keep it for 5 minutes as it will take some time your skin to adjust its sensitivity. Then keep on adding 1 minute each time till you reach 10 minutes and that’s it. Don’t go extra mile. Warning: Skin Burn
Keeping it for long will peel of other layers of the skin, trust me you don’t want to do that.
- Time to use:
Before getting into dreamy sleep. These acids make your skin vulnerable to sun burn so it is better to use it in the night when the Sun is set. Sunscreen is your new best friend, keep it handy and use it every 2 hours to keep your skin safe from UV rays.
- Frequency of usage:
The Ordinary recommends no more than twice a week. We recommend once a week in the beginning and then you can build up resistance to it later and go up to twice a week. That’s it.
- If irritation occurs:
With high concentrations of acids, a little tingling is totally normal. But if you’re experience painful stinging, burning or your skin turns red, wash it off immediately and don’t use it anymore, it’s not for you.
- Care for your skin after usage:
Sunscreen Sunscreen and again Sunscreen…
If you think, I was joking to replace your best friend with Sunscreen, you are wrong. Take a step back, think it over again. Peeling solution will remove a layer of your skin leaving it vulnerable to burn by UV Rays. So the best thing is to use a sunscreen every two hours in the morning.
Go on and buy a lot of sunscreens, because you need it badly.
One more thing: it may also be a good idea to hold off prescription medications, like tretinoin, for a few days before and after the peel to minimize the risk of irritation.
- Mixing up with other tones or exfoliators:
No. peeling solution itself is high concentration potion of acids, we don’t recommend usage of other acid toners and exfoliants at the time you are using this. Which one works better? You’re asking the wrong question, my smart friend. The right question is, “what can your skin tolerate?” Higher doesn’t mean better if it irritates your skin!
BEAUTIES WHO SHOULDN’T USE IT
- If you have sensitive skin, you should not be here.. leave…
- If you want quick results, A big No
- If you have injuries or cracking skin, Don’t use it
- If you don’t know how to use and what it does, No need to buy it
